1. Go to Advanced Startup via Settings:

  • First, please open Settings, tap the . icon Update & security.
  • Select item Recovery on the left panel then press the . button Restart now.

2. Go to Advanced Startup using Power Menu:

  • To enter Start menu, press and hold the . key Shift then choose Restart in Power menu.

  • Press the key combination CTRL+ALT+DEL, press and hold the . key Shift then choose Restart in Power menu.

  • When starting the machine, at the login screen press and hold the key Shift then choose Restart in Power menu.

3. Go to Advanced Startup while in the operating system selection menu (If your computer has multiple operating systems installed):

  • When in this Menu, you choose Change defaults or choose other options.

4. Go to Advanced Startup from Recovery drive:

  • Boot into the USB Recovery you created earlier.
  • Choose your language.

5. Go to Advanced Startup from the Windows 10 installation USB or DVD:

  • Boot into the Windows 10 installation USB you created.
  • Choose your language, keyboard, time zone.
  • Click on Repair your computer below.

Some note

1. Advanced Startup Options is not only accessed manually, it also runs automatically when the following occur:

  • Two failed Windows boot attempts.
  • Two abrupt shutdowns at the completion of the boot process.
  • A boot error occurred (Except for problems related to Bootmgr.efi).
  • A Bitlocker bug on touchscreen-only devices.

2. Some features in Advanced Startup Options require an account name as well as an admin password on the current device.
