How to Authorize ADB Commands on Android Devices

What is the authorization for ADB?

When you launch an ADB command from your computer, your phone accepts it as a administrator command. This means that ADB can effectively replace the original profile in many situations. First of all, ADB must be activated on your phone. Doing this won’t be enough to allow someone with malicious intent to access your phone. This step is quite easy: the first thing to do is activate Developer Options in the settings menu. You will find out Developer Options on the main settings page or categorized under System, depending on your device. When you scroll down to the Debugging, you need to turn on USB Debugging. When you’re ready, you should warm up ADB. This can come with driver settings and it’s basically a Command Prompt window. Make sure your device is connected via USB cable and the screen is unlock. Then we’ll run a test command just to trigger the authorization request. What it does is simply scan USB ports for devices with ADB enabled and provide their IDs. This is what you need to type:

You will notice that many things will happen. First, if this is the first time using ADB on your PC since the last reboot you should see a few lines related to daemon start up. Then the PC will forward commands to your smartphone. The request enabling ADB would look like this:

Note that we have marked “Always allow from this computer“. Since we want to permanently authorize your computer, we will check that option before clicking OK . This way, the next time you connect the two together, your smartphone will recognize primary fingerprint and will automatically allow any command.
